Lauren Silberman

Fitness Coach

Lauren's journey has evolved and gathered momentum over the last decade. She has always had a very strong interest in maintaining a healthy emotional state and physical well-being. In 1999 Lauren decided to enroll in Social Science & Psychology and completed a degree in 2002. However, she found that the psychology was very theory based and lacked what she believes now is the spiritual essence.

During this time Lauren was already training with a personal trainer and fell in love with exercise. She was not brought up in a family that did resistance training but relied more on team sports for fitness. After growing up doing the same team sports as her family, for example tennis, swimming and basketball, she found the challenge of one on one resistance training much more exciting and beneficial for her personal goals at that time.

Laurens thirst for learning more about the human body and behavior enticed her to enroll in a two-year course in Natural Medicine and Holistic Counseling that would enable more practical, hands-on work, following on from the psychology theories. In 2004 Lauren completed a post-graduate diploma in Natural Medicine and Holistic Counseling. After completion of 5 years at university she began to do voluntary work at the Prahran Neighborhood House with troubled adolescents.

Lauren continued training with a trainer one on one only to discover that she had an injury in her back, a prolapsed disc. This caused her to assess the training she was doing and take notice of the negative impact and stress that machine weights were doing to her body, inside and out. Lauren now knows that her back injury was directly a result of incorrect training for a long period of time. With a combination of her personal experience, tertiary education, genuine interest in human behavior and pure love for meeting new people, she knows that she can assist you achieve your optimal health potential as she sincerely feels she has found something she loves to do!!
