Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

It is one of THE MOST important changes you can make to lose weight...

A very important component of health! Water serves two basic functions, HYDRATION and CLEANSING but it is also necessary for many of the bodily chemical reactions. Therefore it is crucial to keep yourself well hydrated with good quality clean water.

You should drink ½ your body weight in kilos multiplied by 0.033 (e.g. 60kg x 0.033 = 1.98 liters.) This is not taking into account environmental conditions or exercise.

We live in a toxic world and unfortunately most municipal water supplies are of lower then optimum quality. Filtering your tap water is a better option than not, you can also utilise mineral water although you have to consider the high use and waste of the plastic bottles, as chemicals from the bottles can affect you and the environment negatively. Evian and Fiji water are great as they have the minerals your body needs to absorb it better. A full house filter system or a filter on your main tap is also an option. Ask us where we get ours from…Whatever you choose make sure you choose pure, clean water.

One other thing to be aware of is the frequency of passing urine!!! Sorry to go down this path but you will find initially that you will need to ‘go’ more often but instead of getting annoyed just remember your body is getting rid of the ‘dirty’ water, so to speak, and replacing it with clean, pure water. It will reduce as your body adapts to its new environment.
